Irish Whistles is a rare collection of seven carefully chosen whistles spanning a wide tonal range - from bright highs to deep, warm lows. Each whistle embodies the unique character and playing style Marcos has refined through years of dedication, delivering a depth of feeling and expression rarely found elsewhere. These aren’t just any whistles; Irish Whistles offers authentic, expressive sounds cherished for their distinctive quality and soul.

Irish Whistles is the result of meticulous refinement – gently evolved from the discontinued Irish Tin Whistles, Irish Low Whistle, and Greenwood Whistle. With two new whistles added, the collection now expands both its tonal depth and expressive potential.
Scale matters
While the Kontakt instruments are fully chromatic, the expressive articulations depend on the scale - just like on the real whistles. This means that some slides are whole-tone and others are half-tone. Please note that slides and ornaments may not function correctly unless you play in the recommended key signatures.

Keyswitches
​Most articulations are assigned to keyswitches but some are triggered by velocity. Different velocity values trigger different variations. See details for each whistle below.​​
Natural vibrato is always present to some extent and isn't controlled via keyswitches - it's seamlessly woven into the performance, shaped organically by each whistle’s unique character.
Low whistle in D
"Deep, melancholic soul infused with strong emotions." Articulations: Legato, Staccato, Slide up, Slide down, Ornaments 1, Ornaments 2​​​ Keyswitched Articulations: - Legato (C0) - Staccato (D0) - Slide up (E0) + velocity triggered layers on D4-D#4 - Slide down (F0) + velocity triggered layers on B3 - Ornaments 1 (G0) + velocity triggered layers on B4 - Ornaments 2 (A0) + velocity triggered layers on B3-B4​​​ Works best in the keys of D and G and their relative minor keys Bm and Em. ​​ ​​​​ Mod Wheel (CC1): Push up to place the low whistle further back using volume and filter.
